Glass Catfish

The glass catfish (Kryptopterus minor) is a transparent freshwater fish.

Size: 2- 3 ½ inches

Color: The glass catfish is transparent with scattered patches of pigment on the head and underbelly.

Continent: Southeast Asia

Range: This fish lives in the Greater Sunda Island Rivers and the Western Borneo Waters.

Habitat: The glass catfish rests in still water and stalks in gentle current.

Food: This fish will eat shrimp and larger established, fish. They relish bloodworm.

Fun Facts: These fish are transparent because, like all catfish, they do not have scales nor do they have body pigment.
