This unique drive-thru experience will feature musical entertainment, street performers, and animal interactions plus tasty treats and libations along the way! Guests of CARnival are invited to participate in the celebration by decorating their cars for a spectacular PARADE through the Zoo.

Now open to the public, the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium is still working to overcome the significant financial losses faced during the March 16 through June 4 closure. This unique experience will help to raise the dollars necessary for the animals in our care. We appreciate your support!

Timed tickets are now on sale! The timed ticket you select is your entry timeTickets are $150 per vehicle. Each vehicle will receive one (1) Swag Bag intended for a vehicle with four (4) people.

Your ticket includes:
Admission for one (1) vehicle

• One (1) Swag Bag
• Access to the guided audio tour
• Tasty treats provided by local restaurants and the Zoo’s caterers intended for four (4) patrons
• Libations delivered curbside intended for four (4) patrons

Excluding The Islands, Jungle Odyssey, PPG Aquarium, Water’s Edge, and Kids Kingdom. In addition, all buildings will be closed.

$150 per vehicle

We recommend guests be 21+ to attend. All vehicles must have a Designated Driver.

Please arrive at the main parking lot at specified time on your ticket. You will not be permitted to enter the Zoo before or after your selected time.

Safety is top priority at this event. All guests will be required to follow the below safety protocols and guidelines:
• Guests are prohibited from exiting their vehicle at any time.
• All tailgates, doors/van doors and hatchbacks must remain closed at all times.
• Keep noise to a minimum – no loud music and no honking.
• Follow the guided tour only; speed limit is 2 mph.
• Be considerate of other guests and limit your time at animal habitats.
• Keep the Zoo clean by carrying out trash after your visit.
• Restrooms will NOT be available.
• Motorcycles, motorbikes, scooters, bicycles, RVs, trailers, buses, and limousines are NOT permitted.

How much are tickets?
Tickets are $150 per vehicle and include one Swag Bag per vehicle. There is no limit to the number of people per vehicle. Previously purchased tickets, media tickets, or complimentary tickets will not be accepted for this experience.

Is there a Member discount?
Since this is a fundraising event to support the Zoo, there is no Member discount offered for this event.

Are face masks required?
Since all passengers are required to remain in their vehicles, masks will not be required for guests who attend this event; however, since guests will be interacting with staff at certain points during the event, it is encouraged that guests wear a mask at those times.

Does each vehicle need a ticket?
Yes. One ticket is required for each vehicle. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. There will be no gate sales for this event.

Do I need to buy tickets online or can the tickets be purchased on site?
All tickets must be purchased online in advance. Tickets must be shown before entering the event. Please make sure your ticket is available to show staff prior to entering. Printed tickets are preferred at this time.

Do I need to bring my photo ID?
Yes. Photo IDs will be required for all passengers. We recommend guests be 21+ to attend.

Can I get out of my vehicle during the safari?
No, guests must stay in their vehicles at all times.

What size vehicle can I drive through the safari?
Vehicle size limited to 20 feet in length and 6 ½ feet width, for example a Ford F250 truck. It is recommended for guests to drive their smallest vehicle due to the small size of the pathway that you will be driving on.

Can I drive through in a convertible with the top down or motorcycle?
Convertibles are permitted, motorcycles are not.

Can I ride in the back of a truck?
No, all guests must remain inside a vehicle.

What does my ticket include?
Your ticket includes one drive through the Zoo, along with a swag bag intended for a vehicle with four (4) people plus a guided audio tour.

Can additional Swag Bags be purchased?
Yes, additional Swag Bags can be purchased for $50/vehicle.

Where does the event begin?
All vehicles will arrive to the Zoo’s main parking lot at 7370 Baker Street.

How long is the event?
While times may vary, the estimated time to travel through the CARnivàle is 60 minutes. However, there may be a longer wait time to enter this special fundraising event due to traffic.

Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed. Please see our service animals policy.

Will I be allowed to exit my vehicle during this event?
No, all guests must remain in their vehicle for the duration of the event.

Will there be restrooms available?
No. Restrooms will be unavailable on Zoo grounds for this event.

What animals/parts of the Zoo will I be able to see or not see?
Animals may be on or off exhibit depending on the time of day, animal needs, staffing, etc. The event will not include The Islands, Jungle Odyssey, PPG Aquarium, Water’s Edge, or Kids Kingdom. In addition, all buildings will remain closed. Please keep in mind that some exhibits will not be in clear sight from your vehicle. We recommend bringing binoculars for best viewing.

I purchased Animal Art from the Online Art Sale, where can I pick it up?
All art sales will be distributed in the parking lot as vehicles are queuing for the event. Please present your receipt to Zoo staff and they will place your art piece in your vehicle for you.

I missed the Online Art Sale, can I still purchase artwork?
Yes, any piece that didn’t sell during the online sale will be available for purchase in the parking lot.

How do I listen to the guided audio tour from my car?
The guided audio tour can be downloaded in advance. Link to be posted shortly.

Will there be food and drinks available?
Food will be included with the cost of each ticket. Each ticket will include tasty CARnivàle treats, including popcorn, chips, cotton candy, and waffle desserts for up to four (4) people per vehicle. Additional restaurants will also be on grounds providing small bites for guests in each vehicle.

Can I bring in my own food and drinks?
Yes, outside food and drinks (excluding alcohol) are permitted.

Once I exit the Zoo, can I go through again on the same day?
No, unless another available ticket is purchased.

Are refunds or rain checks available for inclement weather?
No, this is a rain or shine fundraising event. No rain checks are available.

Can I smoke in my car?
No, the Zoo is a tobacco-free campus.
