Jack O’Lantern Vendor Application

Event Overview


The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium will be hosting a brand new event. Thousands of artistically carved pumpkins will glow in the night during the walk-through Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza. These gourd-geous works of art will feature beloved Zoo animals and familiar characters from the worlds of entertainment, science, fantasy, pop culture, sports, and more, presented with sound, light, and other special effects. This family friendly event is the perfect combination of nighttime fun, the spirit of autumn, and artistry. Thousands of pumpkins will illuminate The Islands and Jungle Odyssey in a spectacle unlike anything you’ve ever seen, including differently themed areas with a Pittsburgh connection!

The Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza will open to the public on Thursday, October 3 and run nightly through Sunday, November 3.

Opportunity Overview


We are offering a limited opportunity for local artisans and craft vendors to offer their Fall/Halloween-themed items for sale for the duration of the event. Located in the Village at the front of the Zoo, vendors can expect to see foot traffic in the range of 1000-3000 on weeknights and 5000-6000 on weekend nights.

Note: Items not allowed include glow-in-the-dark objects, balloons, loose glitter, or throwable items. Products may not be branded with the Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza or Zoo name or logo.

Vendor Schedule


Show Duration: Thursday, October 3 through Sunday, November 3, 2024

Nightly Show Hours:

Monday-Thursday: 6 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Friday-Sunday: 6 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Load-in/setup: Wednesday, October 2, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Note: Vendors must operate a minimum of 5 nights per week for the duration of the event.

Package Includes


10’x10′ covered tent, including side panels

8′ table with 2 chairs

2 vendor staff passes per night

Listing on the Zoo’s website and social media mentions

Exposure Metrics


The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium has a following approaching 500,000 across all social media channels.

Included in participation will be social media posts valued at $5000 per post and recognition of your business on the Zoo’s Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza website with an expected reach of more than 300,000 viewers.

Pricing


Only 8 table vendor tents are available and the month-long commitment is required. Vendors may set appropriate prices for their sale items. Pricing deliverable to the Zoo for the entire show is a one-time fee of $2500.
