Program Information and Entry
The Zoo is offering $3 each general daytime admission for groups of up to 4 people who qualify. This discount program does not apply to any special programming or events at the Zoo. The program only applies to general daytime admission.
Museums for All is a national access program that encourages individuals of all backgrounds to visit cultural institutions and build lifelong learning habits. Learn more here: https://museums4all.org/
Guests who receive food assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can gain $3 general daytime Zoo admission per person by presenting both their participating Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and matching photo ID.
4 people of any age over 24 months old can get in with one card. Each guest costs $3. Children under 24 months are always free and are counted separately from your group of 4.
You need to bring two cards:
- A valid card that provides SNAP benefits. This card should say EBT.
- A government-issued photo ID with a name that matches the name on the EBT card.
Because qualifying guests must be verified by Zoo staff, guests cannot purchase Museums for All tickets in advance online. Tickets must be purchased at Zoo admission gates. Guests who qualify for this discount but purchase advanced online tickets will not receive price adjustments or refunds after purchase.
No, we only require one photo ID that matches the name of the EBT card holder.
No, you can only use your card once per day. If your party has more than 4 guests, additional guests over the 4-person limit will have to pay full price.
Generally no, Museums for All only provides general daytime admission to the Zoo. In many cases, daytime Zoo programs like education programs require special event tickets. Some community events, however (such as ZooBoo), are included with admission. View individual classes or events to see their admission and pricing structure. Unless the page says the event is “included with admission,” the Museums for All discount does not apply.
Only the cardholder to whom the card belongs (or their legal caregiver, in the case of a child) can access the discount.
No, Museums for All applies to individual guests and low-income households who receive benefits. School groups and parties over 15 can learn about special group discounts here.
Card Requirements
Examples of accepted cards:
We understand that Access cards are given out to some children for health benefits; these cards, and cards issued to children, are not accepted for the Museums for All program.
If the card issued and presented through the official EBT app and agrees to the recipient’s state-issued picture ID card who is present and making the purchase, it will be eligible for the Museums for All discount program. However, screenshots or pictures of physical cards are not eligible.
Yes, we accept cards from all 50 states.
Yes, that card is still issued by the state and is therefore valid for the Museums for All program.
No, only current Access cards where the name is fully legible and agrees to the individual’s state-issued identification card will be accepted. We no longer accept PEBT cards as we cannot identify children with a photo ID, and therefore cannot confirm that the person it belongs to is present.
Only current Access cards where the name is fully legible and agrees to the individual’s state-issued identification card will be accepted.
We do not accept cards that are no longer issued by the state. The Yellow Cards are no longer issued or supported by the PA Access Card program, so we cannot accept them.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept cards with the names worn off, as we are not able to formally verify the owner of the card.
No, not at this time. White medical access cards are not valid for Museums for All. We accept only cards that say EBT at this time. Please see our Groups and Discounts page for other offers that may apply to your visit.
Please be advised that the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium does not accept Sun Bucks, also known as Summer EBT (S-EBT), as a form of admission.
