Something big is coming to the Zoo!
Dinosaurs!, a special limited-time exhibition running April 1 through September 7, 2026 allows guests to step into the shadows of the giants of yesteryear. This immersive experience takes place throughout the park and is included free with admission!
This extraordinary journey through time allows guests to encounter some of the largest animals to ever walk the Earth. From a baby Triceratops to the tyrant king of the lizards, Tyrannosaurus rex, over 30 different animatronic dinosaurs will be on display throughout the Zoo grounds. There’s a dinosaur around every corner!
Dinosaurs! is an unforgettable, family-friendly experience that blends education and excitement as you explore the 186 million years of the Mesozoic Era, when giant creatures dominated the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous periods. Additional dinosaur activities including photo opportunities, skeletons, and fossil dig pits will set your spirits saur-ing.
Guests can get up-close and personal with familiar dinosaurs like the plated and spike-tailed Stegosaurus, horned Triceratops, and lengthy-necked Apatosaurus, as well as some less familiar species like the Asian stegosaur Wuerhosaurus, the sauropod with the longest known neck Mamenchisaurus, the carnivorous and sickle-clawed Utahraptor, the brilliantly frilled Styracosaurus, and the massive flying reptile Quetzalcoatlus.
Stomp on by this spring and summer and fossilize some dinomite memories!

Experience & Getting Around
Dinosaurs! is an immersive sensory experience that takes place throughout the Zoo, though figures are not present in Kids Kingdom or inside any buildings such as the Aquarium. It includes massive animatronic figures that move heads and tails and make animal sounds, including roars. It is appropriate for all ages. It should not be too scary for young children, though each child may experience the figures differently. Caregivers may wish to discuss seeing large realistic-looking dinosaurs throughout the park before visiting the Zoo.
Guests with sensory sensitivities may like to check out a sensory bag at our admission gates. The Zoo will also offer several Sensory Friendly Mornings through 2026: May 13, July 22, and August 15 (as well as October 14, after the run of Dinosaurs!) The park will open at 8 a.m. on these mornings, and during this time, the dinosaur figures will not move or make noise; additional details about Sensory Friendly Mornings coming soon.
