Earth Day: Party for the Planet

What better way to celebrate Earth Day than with the planet’s amazing and diverse wildlife? Celebrate our planet with conservation organizations, special giveaways, activities, and more!

Party for the Planet, celebrated as several conservation-focused events April-June, encourages guests and communities to take action for healthier habitats. AZA-accredited Zoos and Aquariums like Pittsburgh are leading the way to bring opportunities for their visitors to learn, to become inspired, and to get involved! Learn more about the event series.

Activities:

  • Tree sapling giveaway in the Village in collaboration with Tree Pittsburgh
  • Native seed giveaway at Safari amphitheater
  • Tree cookie decorating craft – pledge to help the planet
  • 10:30 a.m. Aquarium Penguin Feeding
  • 12:30 p.m. Sea Otter Feeding
  • 1 p.m. Storytime at Safari Amphitheater followed with Ruby the red panda mascot. Featured story: The Lorax
  • 2 p.m. Gorilla Enrichment & Meet the Keeper
  • Volunteer touch tables & partner organizations throughout the park, including:
    • Barrels by the Bay
    • Legacy Home Remodeling
    • Lincoln Caverns
    • Michael Brothers Hauling
    • PA Master Naturalists
    • Splash Watersports
