As part of our Party for the Planet programming, this family-oriented conservation class is designed to engage the community in protecting native birds and their habitats. Families will learn practical ways to take action, such as planting native trees with purpose, reducing threats to backyard birds, and creating bird-friendly spaces that support biodiversity in their own neighborhoods.
Following the classroom experience, participants will take direct conservation action by walking to Highland Park for a native tree planting in collaboration with Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy.
Party for the Planet, celebrated as several conservation-focused events April-June, encourages guests and communities to take action for healthier habitats. AZA-accredited Zoos and Aquariums like Pittsburgh are leading the way to bring opportunities for their visitors to learn, to become inspired, and to get involved! Learn more about the event series.
