Homeschool Day at the international conservation center

Sign up for an Exclusive Experience with our African Elephants in Somerset!

The Pittsburgh Zoo has an off-site reserve for our African elephants in Somerset County, called the International Conservation Center (ICC). This 1,000-acre reserve is the only one of its kind with a strong focus on this beautiful and threatened animal. Guests have limited access to this location, so jump on this opportunity for an exclusive behind-the-scenes look for one day only! This event will include:

  • A Presentation about the ICC and our elephants by the Director of the ICC, Ayeshah Al-Humaidhi, and our Curator of Large Mammals, Jill Sampson
  • A chance to see elephants not present at the Zoo, including our male elephant, Jackson, and our one-year-old baby elephant, Tsuni!
  • A Hayride through the Center
  • A Tour of the Elephant Barn
  • Animal Crafts
  • Meet & Greet with Ambassador Animals, an up-close experience!
