The program offers $5 per person general daytime admission for up to 4 people. The Zoo is proud to introduce this program to welcome our neighbors throughout Western Pennsylvania.
Applicants must hold a valid EBT card and reside in one of the following Western Pennsylvania counties:

- Armstrong County
- Beaver County
- Butler County
- Fayette County
- Green County
- Lawrence County
- Washington County
- Westmoreland County
- Somerset County
Applicants must provide proof of residency with a government-issued photo ID and a valid EBT card. The addresses on both must match the application.
No. The OpporZOOnity Program is not part of the Membership program and does not include Member benefits such as program discounts, early access to events, or other perks. The OpporZOOnity program only applies to the $5 general daytime admission discount outlined on this page.

Application Process
You can apply online by submitting a valid EBT card and a government-issued photo ID. After verification, your digital OpporZOOnity Card will be issued within 3-5 business days.
The application for the OpporZOOnity Card is free, but you will still need to pay the discounted admission fee ($5 admission per guest, up to 4 guests) when visiting the Zoo.
Your application will be denied if the address on your photo ID does not match the address provided in your application.
You will not receive discounted admission until your application has been processed and you receive your OpporZOOnity Card. You may visit the Zoo before you receive your card, but you will not receive a discount and will need to pay the full admission price. Any admission paid before your card is issued will not be refunded. It is recommended to plan ahead to ensure your application is approved before your first visit in order to receive this benefit.
No, the application requires advanced verification before the card can be issued to participants. Due to the high quantities of applications, you cannot apply for this program in person. You will need to apply for this program in advance online.

Yes, the card holder must be present each time the card is used along with their photo ID for further verification.

No, the OpporZOOnity Card is limited to one use per day.
No, the OpporZOOnity Card does not include access to specially ticketed events, exhibits, or seasonal programs such as the Jack O’Lantern Extravaganza or Wild Illuminations.
Programming included with general daytime admission, such as ZooBoo, is covered by the OpporZOOnity Card. Guests should check Event pages to see if events are listed as “Included with Admission”.
Responsibilities, Renewals, Expiration, and Legal Details
Notify the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium immediately. A replacement card may be issued after verification.
No. The OpporZOOnity Card is non-transferable and can only be used by the individual to whom it was issued.
Misuse, including fraud or falsification, will result in immediate suspension or revocation of your card.
The card is valid for one year from the date of issue and must be renewed annually.
You will receive an email reminder before your card expires. Make sure your contact information is up to date.
Special exceptions may be made on a case-by-case basis. Submit documentation for consideration to the program coordinator.
