MUSEUMS FOR ALL PROGRAM FAQ

What is the Museums for All Discount?

The Zoo is offering $3 each general daytime admission for groups of up to 4 people who qualify. This discount program does not apply to any special programming or events at the Zoo. The program only applies to general daytime admission.

Who qualifies for the Museums for All Discount?

Guests who receive food assistance from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) can gain $3 general daytime Zoo admission per person by presenting both their participating Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card and matching photo ID.

What do I need to bring to the Zoo to receive $3 admission?

You need to bring two cards:

  1. A valid card that provides SNAP benefits. This card should say PA ACCESS, PEBT, and/or EBT.
  2. A government-issued photo ID with a name that matches the name on the EBT card.

How many people can get in with my card? What does it cost?

4 people of any age over 24 months old can get in with one card. Each guest costs $3. Children under 24 months are always free and are counted separately from your group of 4.

Can I use my card more than once to get more people in?

No, you can only use your card once per day. If your party has more than 4 guests, additional guests over the 4-person limit will have to pay full price.

Can I use Museums for All to come to a Zoo program?

Generally no, Museums for All only provides general daytime admission to the Zoo. In many cases, daytime Zoo programs like education programs require special event tickets.  Some community events, however (such as ZooBoo), are included with admission. You can click individual programs to see their admission and pricing structure here. Unless the page says the event is “included with admission,” the Museums for All discount does not apply.

My school or personal group has many attendees with SNAP benefits. Does the Museums for All discount apply to my group?

No, Museums for All applies to individual guests and low-income households who receive benefits. School groups and parties over 15 can learn about special group discounts here.

Does everyone in my party have to present a photo ID?

No, we only require one photo ID that matches the name of the EBT card holder.

What if the EBT card belongs to my child?

We understand that Access cards are given out to some children for health benefits. The cardholder must be present with the legal guardian.

Can a friend or relative bring my kids and use my card?

Only the cardholder to whom the card belongs (or their legal caregiver, in the case of a child) can access the discount.

Do you accept cards from other states?

Yes, we accept cards from all 50 states.

Do you accept WIC cards or medical insurance cards?

No, not at this time. We accept only cards that say ACCESS/EBT at this time. Please see https://www.pittsburghzoo.org/groups-discounts-offers/ for additional offers and discounts.
