Fun at the Zoo doesn’t have to end when the sun goes down. Overnights are an exciting way to experience the animal kingdom. Families with children ages 6-12.

Parents' Night Out

Looking for more than just a babysitter? Plan a special evening out while your kids enjoy a fun-filled experience at the Zoo!

Story Time |
Infant - 5 YRS

Introduce your child to a world of wildlife and wonder through story time at the Zoo. Children will hear a story, meet animals, and sing songs. For infants to children 5 years of age.

Zoo Tots | Ages 2 & 3

Introduce your child to a world of wildlife and wonder through exciting Wildlife Academy programs designed just for toddlers. For children AGES 2 & 3 with an adult.

Zoo Kids | Ages 4 & 5

Take your child on an hour-long adventure discovering nature through hands-on animal interactions, crafts, and bio-facts. For children AGES 4 & 5 with an adult.

Child-Only Classes | Ages 6-12

Discover all of the care that goes in to keeping our animals happy and healthy through up close animal encounters, behind-the-scenes tours, and hands-on activities.

Pizza with the Keepers

For Grades 9-12. Join some of our animal care staff for lunch and find out what it’s really like to work at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

Sunday, March 15 session has been cancelled.

Keeper Interactions

For Grades 9-12. Shadow a zookeeper, tour animal areas, and chat with keepers and aquarists about the work they love.

Spotlight on Conservation: Earth Day

Take a photographic journey from the African savanna to the coral reefs of Curaçao, and everything in between, while listening to stories from the man behind the lens, the Zoo's Creative Director, Paul Selvaggio.

KidScience

For Grades 6-8. KidScience is a year-long program designed to introduce middle school students to methods and principles related to conservation biology.

Zoo U.

For Grades 9-12. The Zoo U. program offers semester-based courses that allow high school students to explore new areas of science and conservation.

Zoo Teens

Ages 14-17. A summer volunteer program is a great way to learn more about animals and zoo careers.

AGES 4-9 - Join the Zoo Crew. Learn about the animals at the Zoo and discover all of the care that goes into keeping them happy and healthy.

Wild Destinations | Zoo Camp

AGES 6 & 7 - Join us as we explore some of the most unique habitats on Earth and the animals that call them home!

Families Untamed | Zoo Camp

AGES 8 & 9 - Wild families unite! Campers will be on location piecing together clues to figure out who belongs with whom in the animal kingdom.

Wild by Design | Zoo Camp

AGES 10 & 11 - Let’s build a zoo! During the week campers will take a closer look at animal designs and adaptations while paying careful attention to what goes into creating wild spaces for animals at the zoo..

Veterinary Camp | Zoo Camp

AGES 10-13 - Work alongside Zoo vets as they care for more than 9,000 animals. Discover vet medicine through tours, demonstrations, and hands-on opportunities.
