Pittsburgh native Dr. David Shiffman is an award-winning ocean conservation scientist, educator, author, and public science educator. His public-facing writing has been featured in National Geographic, the Washington Post, internationally-syndicated Op-Ed’s, and a monthly column in SCUBA Diving Magazine. He has spoken to thousands of people around the world about sharks, marine biology, and ocean conservation, and has given an invited professional lecture on all seven continents (yes, including Antarctica). He teaches ocean conservation science and policy at Georgetown University and teaches a variety of other marine biology and environmental science courses at other institutions.
