Salamander Saturday is an annual celebration of these amazing amphibians, initiated by the Foundation for the Conservation of Salamanders. Because of their secretive nature, many are unaware of the diversity of salamanders and their vital role in the ecosystem. Learn about these remarkable creatures, including Pennsylvania’s state amphibian – the eastern hellbender.
