Zoo Lights Returns to Pittsburgh zoo & aquarium

Western Pennsylvanians are invited to take a sparkling safari as Zoo Lights, presented by Eat’n Park, returns to the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium, select nights November 24 through December 30. The holiday season’s brightest family tradition, drive-thru nights return for the fourth year and, due to popular demand, special walk-thru nights have been added.

Zoo Lights transforms the Zoo into a nighttime winter wonderland where thousands of eco-friendly lights and illuminated animals twinkle on over 150 displays, including new images of this year’s Zoo babies. Iconic Pittsburgh favorites are also featured this year, including an animated recreation of Eat’n Park’s classic Christmas tree and star commercial, as well as Daniel Tiger and friends from regional partners, Fred Rogers Productions.

Drive-thru guests can enjoy the lights from the comfort of their cars, with optional stops for snacks, warm drinks, and festive gifts. A downloadable podcast brings seasonal music to each vehicle. All guests in the vehicle are covered by a flat $45 admission.

“Zoo Lights has been such a wonderful event for the community and a fun holiday tradition. Many years ago, the Zoo used to offer holiday light walk-thrus, which guests have been requesting. What better time to bring that back than our 125th anniversary,” said Ron Gruca, Chief Advancement Officer at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium.

To savor Zoo Lights at a slower pace, the all-new walk-thru experience is available select Fridays and Saturdays during the run. In addition to the light displays, food, and retail offerings, there will be additional live music and character photo opportunities, including visits with Santa Claus. Price is $18 for adults and $15 for children ages 2 and over.
