CAMPERSHIP FUND APPLICATION

Campership Application IS NOW OPEN!

Now accepting applications through March 31, 2024

The Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium is now accepting applications for camp scholarships. To be eligible for a campership, the child’s legal guardian must demonstrate financial hardship and commit to the child’s attendance for the full week of camp.

If selected for a campership, the child will receive:

  1. Waived registration fee
  2. Free lunch each day
  3. Before and after care

The child’s legal guardian will also receive a $50 transportation stipend to defer the cost of transportation to and from camp.

Camperships are available for all age groups during the following weeks:

  • June 17th – June 21st
  • July 8th – July 12th
  • August 5th – August 9th

Available for Zoo Camp: Amazing Animals (ages 4-5),  Zoo Camp: Wild Destinations (ages 6-7), Zoo Camp: Go Wild (ages 8-9), Zoo Camp: Creating Wild Spaces (ages 10-11), and Zoo Camp: Photos for Conservation (ages 12-14)

To apply for a campership, please complete the Campership Application form below (one application per child).

Key dates:

  1. Last day to apply: March 31, 2024
  2. Notice of acceptance: April 12, 2024
    1. If accepted, final documentation must be received by April 26, 2024 to secure your spot.
  3. Notice of unsuccessful application: April 30, 2024

 

Those selected for a campership will be contacted within the first two weeks of April to confirm their registration and provide any required documentation. Those not selected for a campership will be informed by April 30 that their application was not successful.

To maximize camp opportunities, each camper is only allowed to attend one week of Zoo Camp. If selected for a camp scholarship, your child will be assigned a camp week that you indicate they are available.
All lunches come with a side of Goldfish crackers, applesauce, and a Capri Sun juice box.
