2023 Zoo Camp

A one-of-a-kind adventure awaits! A full week of Zoo Camp is packed with animal encounters, guided tours, themed classroom lessons, and more. Get ready to embark on an incredible journey for one wild week this summer! Program themes are designed to be fun and engaging for each age group. Age requirements for camp are strictly enforced. Campers should attend only one week of Zoo Camp. All classes are conducted by experienced teachers and college students, each of whom is current with state and national clearances. The Zoo cannot be responsible for, or dispense, any medications to campers. Full-day campers are responsible for bringing their own lunches Monday-Thursday. A pizza lunch is provided by the Zoo on Friday. 

Member pre-sale begins January 23rd. General sale begins January 30th. You must be a Member at the time of registration to receive the Member discount.

animal safari – SOLD OUT

Ages 4-5

Join us on safari!  We will learn about animals and their habitats as we embark on an African adventure, a tropical trek and a journey under the sea before coming home sweet home to explore our own backyards.

GO WILD – SOLD OUT

Ages 6-7

There’s no better place to “go wild” than right here at the zoo!  We will spend a fun and exciting week discovering how animals use their senses, colors, motion, and other features in many unique ways.

EXTREME ANIMALS – SOLD OUT

Ages 8-9

Who is the most extreme? This week you will discover amazing animal adaptions that help some of the most fascinating creatures on Earth survive.  Along the way, you will meet a wide variety of animals from all corners of the Zoo.

With conservation projects located on all seven continents and two oceans, our Zoo is working to save animals worldwide.  Through hands-on activities, games, and projects, you will learn how scientists, educators, and local citizens can work together to help wildlife in any neighborhood!

We truly believe that today’s young people will become tomorrow’s leaders in conservation.  Campers will not only become informed about many of the environmental dilemmas facing our planet, they will understand that actions speak louder than words and that conservation begins with each one of us.

Come and learn about the animals at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium and all the care that goes into keeping them happy and healthy. Up close animal encounters, behind the scenes tours, and hands on activities will be sure to give campers a chance to experience what it’s like to be a part of the Zoo’s crew!

Do you want to be a Marine Scientist when you grow up? Join us in learning about many different marine career paths through hands on activities and tours here at the Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium!

Ages 12-14

If you are interested in becoming a veterinarian, this camp is for you.  Work alongside Zoo vets who care for more than 9,000 resident animals.  Through tours, demonstrations, and hands-on opportunities you will discover what veterinary medicine is all about.
